Staff

The teachers in Year 6 are Mrs Hemmi, Miss Xavier-Cope and Mrs Pinkos.

Learning in English and Maths

The information below provides details about the areas of learning that your child will cover in Year 6. Children are expected to meet these requirements by the end of Year 6. These are based on the guidance from the National Curriculum 2014.

Year 6 Knowledge Organiser

The children in Year 6 use a Knowledge Organiser to help them with their next steps in learning. Please see below for the information for GPaS, Reading, Writing and Maths which is included in the Knowledge Organiser.

Homework

Children are given a reading book appropriate to their level, which they are expected to read daily. Please write in your child’s contact book when they have finished reading it so the teacher knows when to change it. Your child will receive weekly English and Maths homework which is based around their learning in class. They will be given this on Thursday and expected to return it by Tuesday of the following week. There will also be spelling lists given each week from the Year 5/6 spelling list.
