The time had finally arrived, to put everything that we were working towards in to practice. The rehearsals at school and the rehearsing at home all led to this moment, to this day, our concert day!
On Thursday 19th January, we, along with students from Cedar Children's Academy, Gordon Children's Academy and All Faiths Children's Academy made our way to the O2 Arena in London, to join the 'World's largest School Choir' at the Young Voices Concert.
We left school at 12.30pm feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. Upon arrival, we ate our lunch then got straight on with rehearsing with the other schools – there were approximately 20,000 children in total!
After the rehearsal, we had our dinner and then we were ready to shine! The concert started at 7pm and we got to sing our hearts out for all to hear. We even got to sing with Heather Small, which was absolutely amazing! We were all having a wonderful time, riding the adrenaline and pride in what we had just achieved.
The concert ended, which meant that it was time to go home, it took us ages to get out of the O2 Arena but we had a fabulous time.
It was great to see the children enjoying themselves. The adults had a great time too!
Thank you O2 Arena, thank you Young Voices. We will see you next year!
