The Thinking Schools Academy Trust held its first TSAT Rocks battle this week, in which junior school students from across our Trust battled it out on Times Tables Rockstars to become the first TSAT Rocks champion. Pupils from New Horizons logged on from home and from school to put their times tables skills to the test! We were one of 7 schools competing in the battle, against other primary and junior schools from our Strood and Portsmouth Hubs.
Congratulations to The Gordon Academy from our Strood Hub who claimed the trophy!
Across the Trust, over 1,666 children from 92 classes took part, and an incredible 1,287,318 times tables questions were answered! It was a great opportunity for our pupils to connect with the other schools in our Trust, and develop a sense of pride in representing our school.
Our pupils worked incredibly hard and had lots of fun taking part in the competition; the battle was designed to engage our pupils in their Maths learning and develop their arithmetic skills in fun, engaging and interactive way, and this was certainly achieved at New Horizons!
Well done and thank you to all children who took part, and to parents and carers who encouraged their children to participate from home. We’re very excited for the next TSAT Rocks battle next term – let’s make that trophy ours, New Horizons!
