Students at New Horizons Children's Academy joined the rest of the Thinking Schools Academy Trust to celebrate World Book Day 2024.
Throughout the day, classes participated in a number of events to inspire a love of reading in our young learners. Junior students visited the infant classes to read to their younger peers. Whether it be their favourite book or something new from the reading corner, the collaboration between the year groups was heartwarming to experience.
Running alongside the reading sessions, each year group had the opportunity to visit the book fayre, held in the Cartwright hall. All books were donated by parents and each child was given time to explore the literary options on display at the stalls and pay for a book of their choice. The money raised for the fayre will be put towards books for the school's reading scheme, a programme requested by the Student Council.
