Christmas at New Horizons!

May 4, 2022 09:10am

Over the past couple of weeks, children at New Horizons Children’s Academy have been feeling very festive! Our pupils have been participating in a variety of Christmas activities, including Christmas crafts, an exciting pantomime and Christmas Jumper Day.

Our Nursery and Reception children have enjoyed learning all about Christmas this week, thinking about the Nativity story and how different families celebrate Christmas in different ways. Children in our nursery have had a lovely time playing in their new Santa’s Grotto play area, which is a magical learning space for all. The children also performed beautifully in the EYFS nativity – a very well done to all children who took part!

We have also had some exciting events take place in the school this Christmas period, such as an amazing Christmas pantomime and a visit from local author Georgina Golding who spoke about her new winter story with our pupils.

Children across all year groups have been learning and singing Christmas songs and painting baubles for our Christmas tree, and we even held class Christmas parties on the final day of term. It’s been a very exciting lead up to Christmas at New Horizons, with so many enrichment opportunities for our children.

We wish all staff, pupils and their families a lovely Christmas break. Stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming you all back in January 2022!
